COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Qualifying sessions wrapped up for the Broadmoor Pikes Peak Int’l Hill Climb Thursday, with the Unlimited and Time Attack 1 divisions focused on laying down some fast runs, but the mountain had other plans.
Due to adverse conditions caused by rain, only a few competitors made qualifying runs.
In Time Attack 1, four-time overall winner Romain Dumas set the fastest qualifying run in his 2019 Porsche 911 GT2RS Clubsport at 3:56.164. He was followed by two-time overall Pikes Peak champion Rhys Millen and Pikes Peak rookie Steve Zimmer.
The Unlimited class was led by 2019 overall champion Robin Shute, who piloted his 2018 Wolf GB08 TSC-LT to a qualifying time of 3:55.149. Don Wickstrum was second in the class, followed by Paul Gerrard.
