Derek DeBoer sped to the pole during GT4 America West qualifying at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Porsche & BMW Go Fast In GT4 America Trials

MONTEREY, Calif. – The Racers Group entries locked out the front row for round three of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West season Thursday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, with Derek DeBoer taking the pole and teammate Kevin Woods second.

DeBoer piloted his No. 17 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR to a 1:32.001-second lap during qualifying that was closely followed by Woods’ effort in the No. 67 Porsche 918 Cayman CS MR. Third fastest was the RHC Jorgensen/Strom by Strom Motorsports No. 452 BMW M4 GT4 entry driven by Brett Storm at 1:32.271.

The first Pro-Am entry in the grid slotted in fourth with Jon Miller’s 1:32.320-second lap in the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4.

In the second qualifying session for round four positioning, BMW’s locked out the front row, with the No. 19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 being driven to a 1:31.123 pole-winning lap under Gregory Liefooghe’s control. Jason Wolfe was second in the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 at 1:32.250.

Third was claimed by ST Racing teammate Harry Gottsacker, who took the No. 28 BMW M4 GT4 to a 1:32.926 lap.
