DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Sam Paley will return to McCumbee McAleer Racing beginning at the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Paley was the polesitter at Daytona last season, along with notching multiple stout finishes throughout the season. This year, Paley and the team are looking to finally breakthrough in victory lane.Â
“Sam joining us, for the opening event, adds extra strength to our program,” said team owner Stevan McAleer. “Sam will 100% be a contender to win races and I am very excited to see him back under MMR for the opening event.”
Paley, who started working with MMR in 2020, is also excited to be back with the team as he steers the No. 28 Red Team Ventures car.Â
“I am beyond excited to be back with MMR for the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Cup season opener at Daytona,” said Paley. “We have formed an excellent relationship over the years that I look forward to continuing. We were on the pole here last year and finished 2nd in 2021. The goal is to win, and I have full confidence we will have a very quick and competitive package.
“This is the best event of the year, and I can not wait to get started.”
