James Sofronas Conquers Nashville Streets

NASHVILLE – James Sofronas drove his No. 14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS Ultra to victory in the first race of a doubleheader weekend at the Music City Grand Prix Saturday on the streets of Nashville.

Starting from from the pole, Sofronas lost the lead right out of the gate and had to work to recapture the top spot while defending from podium-seeking competitors.

Jeff Burton, driving the No. 191 Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, finished second overall and also claimed the Masters class victory. The Charlie Luck started fourth and worked his way to third at the checkered flag after a race-long battle with Burton.

Jason Dasakalos just missed out on the podium, but managed to hold off the remainder of the field, including GT2-class winner Elias Sabo, who slotted into the fifth position.

In GT4, class polesitter Alex Welch lost and recaptured a few positions on the way to the top spot of the GT4 podium. The No. 120 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, driven by Adam Adelson, took the second podium step in the class for Adelson’s first podium appearance in the series.

Closing out the GT4 podium was Robb Holland, who added the third-place hardware to his GT America collection.
