WESTEL, Tenn. — A groundbreaking ceremony was Thursday to launch the construction of Flatrock Motorsports Park and Motorclub.
To be built on a 773-acre track of land less than a day’s drive from 75 percent of the U.S. population, the facility is designed to be a racing and entertainment destination.
There are three phases of the park scheduled, with the first to open in sprint 2023.
Flatrock Motorsports Park, with tracks designed by world renowned Tilke Engineers & Architects, will feature a 3.50-mile private member’s vlub track and a 2.67-mile Grand Prix track. Combined, the full circuit is almost 6 miles of challenging and unique driving, taking advantage of the natural topography and views.
“A Tennessee Motorsports Park is a legacy project for me and I am excited, along with our partners, to bring it to Cumberland County, Tennessee,” said Rusty Bittle, developer and founding partner of Flatrock Motorsports Park.
Flatrock’s Motorclub members will enjoy a state of the art paddock, luxurious clubhouse with restaurant, lounge, and day spa, premium garages with rooftop viewing, track side villas, a multipurpose pit building with race control, meeting spaces and more.
Along with the Motorclub track and campus, Flatrock plans to open a CIK Karting Track in the spring of 2023.
Future phases of the park include the Grand Prix track, a landmark hotel and destination restaurant, campgrounds, brewery, winery, additional lodging, a retail center and a natural amphitheater, using Crab Orchard stone, that will play host to major motor sporting races, live concerts and special events.
“Visitors from around the world come to Tennessee for our unmatched scenic beauty and adventure. Flatrock Motorsports Park is the perfect combination for this entirely new, world-class driving experience,” said Commissioner Mark Ezell, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “This development is sure to become a premier motorsports destination and an important economic driver for Cumberland County and the entire region.”
