LEMANS, France — Alpine has officially entered the FIA World Endurance Championship, revealing the Alpine A424_B that will debut next season.
Powered by a Mecachrome V-6 engine, the A424_β initiates this new chapter by drawing on the brand’s racing heritage and DNA.
Developed by Alpine in conjunction with ORECA, the LMDh hybrid system for the new Hyper car effort will carry a Bosch electric motor, while Signatech will serve as the factory racing team for Alpine during the WEC campaign.
“Today we unveil the Alpine A424_B, the forerunner of our Hypercar designed to challenge the best competitors starting next year,” said Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi. “True to our values, this new prototype takes the A-arrow brand into the future; while following in the footsteps of our creations, beginning with Alpenglow and the A290_B.”
The car is expected to have its first on-track test session later this month.
