Juncos Racing Sets Sebring IMSA Roster

INDIANAPOLIS – Juncos Racing has confirmed that Agustin Canapino will complete Juncos Racing’s line-up for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring next weekend at Sebring Int’l Raceway.

Canapino will join Rene Binder and Will Owen to pilot the No. 50 Cadillac DPi-V.R entry. All three drivers will return to the team after competing at the Rolex 24 in late January.

Canapino will rejoin Juncos Racing for his second race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and first run at Sebring Int’l Raceway.

“I am very grateful to Ricardo (Juncos) for the opportunity to return to the team at one of the biggest events on the IMSA schedule,” said Canapino. “I take a lot of pride and responsibility to be part of a great team like Juncos Racing. I am also happy to team up with Rene and Will for the second time. We have built a great relationship, so I am excited to continue with that next week at Sebring. It will be my first time in Sebring, a circuit with so much history, and so the demand will be extreme and I will need to perform at the maximum. We will work hard like we did at Daytona to complete the race with our Cadillac DPi-V.R.”

Owen is currently the team’s only full-time driver for the  season.

“We are excited to get back in the game after a short time off,” said Owen. “In the past few weeks we have prepared a lot with our test in Sebring and a couple of days on the simulator. In addition to our setup, we also pinpointed the exact cause of our problems in Daytona. That was a huge relief for everyone. It’s also exciting to work with Agustin and Rene again. Both of them were fast in Daytona, and it’s always been a pleasure to work with such professionals. I’ve heard this race is more difficult in certain ways than Daytona. With one race under our belt though, I’m confident that the Juncos crew, our Cadillac DPi-V.R, and us drivers can do the job.”

Binder will join the team for the remaining endurance races during the season.

“I am really happy to return to the track with my teammates Will and Agustin,” said Binder. “We worked really well together at the Rolex 24 so I am looking forward to building on that at Sebring. We have been working hard on the setup and I feel that we have found a great setup during our sim sessions and test days, so we should be well prepared for the race weekend.”
