GUATEMALA CITY – Lamborghini GT3 Junior driver Mateo Llarena will race his second Rolex 24 At Daytona in the GTD class with T3 Motorsports at the end of January.
The 17-year-old joins the No. 71 Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 EVO with fellow drivers Maximilian Paul, Frank Perera and veteran endurance driver Mikhail Goikhberg at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Llarena is excited to work with T3 Motorsports of Germany as it makes its Rolex 24 At Daytona debut following years of success in Europe.
“It’s a great experience to race for the second year in a row at the 24 Hours of Daytona and now with Lamborghini,” Llarena said. “Also, with a brand that gave me all the necessary support this season in the Italian GT Championship.”
T3 Motorsports has most recently competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and ADAC GT Masters with Paul at the helm.
Llarena will become the only driver from Guatemala to compete in two consecutive Rolex 24 At Daytona events.
This past year Llarena made three IMSA MICHELIN Endurance Cup appearances. He also ran a full season of Italian Gran Turismo in the Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 EVO that’s prepared him for the 24-hour race.
The 60th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona will take place Jan. 27-30.
