CONCORD, N.C. – Vasser Sullivan Racing has completed its IMSA driver lineup with the signing of Kyle Kirkwood to the team for the Michelin Endurance Cup, starting with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Jan. 29-31 at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Kirkwood will co-drive the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 entry with Jack Hawksworth and Aaron Telitz in all four Endurance Cup events: the Rolex 24 at Daytona; the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring; the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins Glen and the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Oliver Gavin will join that trio for the Rolex 24.
Kirkwood, 22, was the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 champion and drove for the team last year in both the Motul Petit Le Mans and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
“I’m ecstatic to come back to Vasser Sullivan in a Lexus RC F GT3 for the endurance rounds of the 2021 season,” said Kirkwood. “The team is constantly excelling and this year everyone has made extreme strides to make sure we have a successful season. Our preparation is immense and I am really looking forward to kicking off the season at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 this weekend.”
“We, obviously, have a ton of confidence in Kyle. He was an outstanding addition to the team last year and we are very excited and pleased we are able to add him to our Endurance Cup lineup,” said team co-owners Jimmy Vasser and James ‘Sulli’ Sullivan. “He brings a familiarity with the team and our other drivers and we look forward to even more on-track success this season.”
