JACKSON, Wis. – Bodymotion Racing and JCR Motorsports have announced a sports car racing partnership for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and will campaign the No. 31 Recstuff.com/Kenda/X-Analytics/Enercare Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport MR GT4 for Fred Roberts and Jeff Courtney.

The new alliance will begin competition this weekend in the Grand Sport division at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, during the two-hour Mid-Ohio 120 on May 4.

Roberts and Courtney are no strangers to one another, as they were teammates working together several seasons for Courtney’s JCR Motorsports racing organization in the Pirelli World Challenge road racing series.

Most recently, Courtney captured the series championship last year in the GTS Sprint Am division with the JCR Motorsports/X-Analytics Maserati Gran Turismo MC GT4 machine. The veteran Wisconsin racer won races at Road America and Watkins Glen in 2018.

Roberts recorded two podium (top-three) finishes in 2018 in the GTS Am class, as well as won two pole positions in 2017.

“We are very pleased to a develop a partnership with longtime IMSA competitors, Bodymotion Racing, for Fred and I in the very competitive IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series,” said Courtney. “The new Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport MR sports car has proven to be a strong car right out of the box in 2019. We enjoyed the success with the Maserati over the years, but the ‘old girl’ had run its course. Now, teaming Bodymotion Racing, we believe this new alliance will give Fred and I an excellent shot at being very competitive in 2019.  We’re very excited for the Mid-Ohio weekend. We have some longtime Ohio-based sponsors such as Kenda and Mid-Ohio is such a legendary circuit for sports cars as well.”

“Jeff and I have worked together for the last several years and I was thrilled to see Jeff win the title last year for JCR Motorsports,” added Roberts. “We have a great friendship and are really aligned with what we want from racing. Moving into the new Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport MR sports car in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge this year is pretty exciting. It may take a little adjustment to the new car and format, but I am ready to tackle the famed Mid-Ohio circuit this weekend. Hopefully it will be nice to finish what I didn’t get to last time at MO!”

Bodymotion Racing is a veteran racing operation from Ocean Township, N.J. with a vast background and success in the sports car racing industry dating back to 1984.

A division of Bodymotion Inc., whose New Jersey-based shops offer state-of-the-art full service auto mechanical repair, collision and refinishing, race car fabrication, and street car performance upgrades, the Bodymotion team ended the 2018 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series season third in the Street Tuner class championship.

The team earned one victory, two second-place finishes, four third-place finishes, two fourth and a single fifth-place finish.

“We have had a partnership with Porsche for many years and we’re happy to field the new Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport MR GT4 sports car for Fred and Jeff in 2019,” said Bodymotion Racing team owner Michael Bavaro. “We have seen the success already of Porsche’s new GT4 car and we’re anxious to field the new machine with our partnership with JCR Motorsports. Bodymotion has had many excellent racing seasons throughout its history and we hope can continue that success beginning this weekend at Mid-Ohio.”
