DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Sports car driver Jim Taggart will make his Rolex 24 At Daytona debut this weekend as he straps into a Muehlner Motorsport Porsche GT America for the famed twice-around-the clock road race.
Taggart will pilot the No. 19 GTD (GT Daytona) entry in his TUDOR United SportsCar Championship debut.
A full-season competitor and the 2013 Pirelli World Challenge rookie of the year, Taggart will share the Porsche with Pirelli World Challenge Champion Randy Pobst, Jim Michaelian, Mark Kyamme and Rob Gewirtz.
“The opportunity came up late and it was something I had to jump on,” said Taggart. “I’ve never driven this car nor at Daytona.”
