WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Ricky Taylor put the No. 10 SunTrust Corvette DP on the pole for Saturday’s Continental Tire 200 at Watkins Glen Int’l.
Taylor the pole with a best lap of 1:06.039 at 133.557 mph on the 2.45-mile Watkins Glen short course. It was his third pole in four events at Watkins Glen.
Joining Taylor on the front row will be Antonio Garcia in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Racing Corvette DP. Garcia turned in a best lap of 1:06.192 at 133.249 mph to give the Corvette DP’s a front row sweep.
Boris Said scored the GT class pole with a speed of a 1:12.674 lap in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Chevrolet Corvette he co-drives with Eric Curran.
In addition to Saturday’s Rolex Series Continental Tire 200, Said will compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Finger Lakes 355 at The Glen. It was Said’s fifth career GT pole.
Second in GT qualifying was John Edwards in the No. 57 Stevenson Auto Group Chevrolet Camaro GT.R.
