DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing has announced its driver lineup for the 2013 running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Regular drivers Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty will lead the team again in 2013 and will be joined by Darren Law and Memo Gidley during the 51st running of the Rolex 24. In past years the team has only used three drivers during the Rolex 24, with 2013 marking the first year since 2009 that the team used four drivers.
“Every single one of us wants to win this race and we want to win it this year,” said team owner Bob Stallings. “We have thought through every manageable dimension of the race and that is the reason we’ve decided to go with four drivers this year.
Gidley served as the third driver for the team at Daytona last season. This will mark his second stint behind the wheel of the No. 99 GAINSCO Insurance Corvette DP. Law joins the team after spending the last several years at what is now known as Action Express Racing.
“I am always optimistic when we come here (to Daytona). I always think we have the best driver lineup, the best prepared car and I certainly think the Corvette is the best car on the track,” Stallings said. “Hopefully next year it all comes together for us.”
