Duval Out For 24 Hours Of Le Mans

LE MANS, France – It was announced Thursday that Loic Duval will not take part in this years 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Duval, who escaped serious injury in a frightening crash in the ultra fast Porsche Curves on Wednesday at Circuit de la Sarthe, was cleared to drive after spending a night in the hospital for observation. However due to the major nature of the crash the Audi team decided to withdraw Duval, one of the defending race winners, from the No. 1 Audi R-18.

The withdrawal of Duval meant the ACO stewards who oversee the 24 hours of Le Mans had to approve the change of driver line-up for two teams. Marc Gene will now move to the Audi No. 1 and Oliver Turvey will replace Gene in the No. 38 Jota Sport LMP2 car.
