BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Fall-Line Motorsports has announced the addition of Shelby Blackstock to their IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSCC) Grand Sport program.
Blackstock’s path to sports car racing has been very different from many of his competitors. He began three years ago, honing in his skills at the Bob Bondurant and Skip Barber racing schools and quickly developing his craft along with a deep-rooted passion for motorsports. Blackstock began competing in the CTSCC series in 2011 and led his first laps in a GS car at the season-opener at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
In his three years of CTSCC competition, Blackstock has earned one pole position, one top-five finish, and one podium. Residing in Charlotte, NC., Blackstock is now 23 years old and looking for that first elusive CTSCC victory. He also earned a victory in the Pro Mazda Championship in 2013.
“I am very excited to be joining Fall-Line Motorsports for the 2014 season,’ Blackstock said. “They have proven time and time again to be a top team in the GS class and I hope to get some wins with them this season. I want to thank Michael Harvey and the entire team at Fall-Line for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to start the season off in Daytona.”
Blackstock will be driving one of Fall-Line’s BMW M3s, which have been the car of choice for the team since their first year of CTSCC competition in 2006. Co-driver and sponsors will be announced ahead of the first official event of 2014, the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona Int’l Speedway in early January.
