Rebellion Racing has renewed the contract of driver Andrea Belicchi for the 2013 campaign.
The Italian driver has been part of the team since the beginning and has successfully driven in GT, LMP2 and LMP1 with the Swiss team. In 2012, Belicchi won two rounds of the LMP1 Endurance Trophy at Silverstone and Shanghai in the FIA World Endurance Championship on top of four other podium finishes in the year.
Belicchi will start the 2013 season with Rebellion Racing in the USA at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The full details of Rebellion Racing’s 2013 racing program will be unveiled at a later date in January.
“I am delighted at the prospect of racing again with Rebellion Racing, it’s my second family,” said Belicchi. “The team’s racing program for 2013 is not finalized for the moment, but I am confident it will be a strong one. There is mutual trust between us and we will be looking to be in a position to win, no matter which championship or continent we’re racing on. The team and our technical partners are working hard on improvements for the car, there are many developments to come, and I am ready myself already to start the new season with Rebellion Racing.”
“I am very pleased that Andrea will be with us again next season, he has been and remains a key member of the team. He is quick, reliable, loyal and he shares our great team spirit,” said Bart Hayden, Rebellion Racing team manager.
