Sanders Continues Dominance In Placerville

PLACERVILLE, Calif. – The impressive early season dominance of Justin Sanders continued Saturday at Placerville Speedway, as the Aromas driver captured his third triumph in as many races with the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Cars.

The 25-lap Thompson’s Winged Sprint Car finale came to the line with Shane Golobic and Tanner Carrick on the front row. When the green flag waved it was Carrick who shot to the lead with Justin Sanders quickly slicing his way up to second.

A caution on lap nine set up a restart that saw Sanders make his move for the top spot. The wheelman of the Dale Miller Septic No. 4SA stayed glued to Carrick’s rear bumper and executed a picture perfect slider in turn four to grab the lead on lap 11.

After that Sanders had his way with things out front for the most part, but the action behind him remained hot and heavy. Carrick and Golobic delighted the solid crowd on hand with an entertaining back and forth duel for the runner up spot.

The final stoppage of the race occurred with four laps remaining and during it Sanders once again checked out with ease to snag the Ron Stahl checkered flag for his 16th career Winged 360 win at the Placerville bullring. It marked his ninth overall victory of the campaign.

Golobic, Carrick and Hollister’s Ryan Bernal showcased a torrid three-car battle over the final laps, which saw Golobic finish second ahead of 13th starter Bernal, Carrick and Roseville’s Jodie Robinson in the top-five.

Sharing victory lane on Saturday night with Sanders were Dan Jinkerson in the Pure Stocks, Wyatt Lakin in the Mini Trucks and Craig Holsted with the BCRA Lightning Sprints.
