PETALUMA, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds will have another familiar California venue to call home on Saturday nights.

Point races for the sanctioned division at Petaluma Speedway begin on April 6 and continue through Sept. 21.

“The one sanctioning body I see that has stood the test of time is IMCA. They’ve done everything they could to keep the sport affordable,” General Manager Rick Faeth said. “I can open the Speedway Motors catalog and build an IMCA Modified, minus the engine.”

In its 53 consecutive year of racing, and 45th under the direction of GLAD Enterprises, Petaluma had also sanctioned its Modified division with IMCA from 1991-1992 and 2004-2006.

“I’ve talked with other California tracks that are or will be IMCA this season. We could go with a rival sanctioning body or we could close ranks and run with the same one,” he added. “I believe in the due diligence of IMCA and the professionalism of their staff, like (regional director) Paul Vetter, when we do have a hiccup.”

Part of IMCA’s Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Petaluma is one of three tracks that will host sanctioned Nor-Cal Modified Series dates this season.
