MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Brandon Dozier claimed the sprint-car feature in what was a bizarre feature event Saturday night at Marysville Raceway Park.
After rain interrupted the program, the B main was scrapped and all 24 cars started the feature. Two aborted starts and a flip by Garry Burdick slowed the pace early.
Once the race got rolling, Dozier took the lead and paced every lap of the third-mile dirt oval.
But it was slow going as one crash after another slowed the event.
With some clear racing during the final laps, Dozier pulled away for the victory while Korey Lovell edged Robbie Hight by inches at the checkered flag. Kyle Hirst and Mason Moore completed the top five.
Mitch Machado returned to capture his second straight super stock feature as Misty Castleberry returned to victory lane in the mini stock class. Tim Maclaughlin won the Pro 4 sprint car finale as Jeremy Hawes returned to victory lane in the new hobby stock class.
