PEORIA, Ariz. — Charles Davis Jr. and Guy Norton were among the big winners on Sunday night as the Labor Day Weekend Fan Appreciation Double at Canyon Speedway Park came to a conclusion.
While Davis finished off a sweep of the weekend’s CSP Challenge Cup Sprint Car action and Norton improved upon his Saturday finish by one spot to take IMCA Modified honors, other Sunday night winners included Eric Kelly in Super Stocks, Anthony Madrid in Pure Stocks, Joe Peterson in Bombers and Vince Perez in Southwest Mod Lites.
After winning Saturday’s CSP Challenge Cup feature from seventh, Davis charged from 10th to top the Sunday feature event in front of pole starter Stevie Sussex, Matt Lundy, Johnny Shelton Jr., and Tim Beal.
Guy Norton took advantage of a front row outside starting position to claim his second IMCA Modified feature win of the year in front of Jay Foster, Saturday night winner Chris Olexicwiez, Steve Simpson, Jr., and Jason Noll.
Eric Kelly completed a sweep of the initial weekend of Super Stock action at CSP in 2012 by winning from the second row inside ahead of Alan Kelly, Kenny Gill, Joe Saringer and Stacey Bennett.
Anthony Madrid scored his third Pure Stock win of the year in front of 13th-starter Chris McCurdy, Jr., and Joe Vlasity, while Joe Peterson snared his third Bomber victory ahead of Joe Flewelling and Justin Bishop.
Vince Perez earned his second Southwest Mod Lites triumph by racing from fifth to take the checkered flag ahead of A.J. Martin and Scott Strei.
