Thorson Earns First Sprint Car Victory

CHICO, Calif. – Tanner Thorson raced to his first winged 410 sprint car victory Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Thorson started third in the 25-lap main event. Keith Bloom led the opening circuits as Thorson moved into second and began to give chase. Eventually Thorson was able to slip past Bloom to take the race lead before a caution flag on lap 14 for a spin by Chase Majdic slowed the action.

The field returned to action, but not for long as Kyle Hirst came to a stop four laps later off of turn four. By this point sixth-starting Jonathan Allard had made his way up to second.

Allard tried to find his way around Thorson to no avail as the California hot shoe held on to earn his first winged sprint car victory.

Allard settled for second, followed by Bloom, Sean Becker and Brad Bumgarner.

Ryan McDaniel (limited late models), Phil Marino (street stocks), Brian Cooper (hobby stocks) and James Foster (mini stocks) were also winners Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway.

The finish:

Tanner Thorson, Jonathan Allard, Keith Bloom, Sean Becker, Brad Bumgarner, Kyle Hirst, Rowdy McClenon, Mason Moore, Michael Ing, Johnny Reeves, Keith Sharrah, Chase Majdic, Jim Richardson, Craig Swim.
