DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — SPEED SPORT and short-track racing have more than 80 years of history together, and now for the first time the motorsports multimedia company is excited to announce June 17-26, 2016, will be SPEED SPORT Short Track Week Presented by Suzuki.
Using all of its media platforms — SPEED SPORT Magazine, SPEEDSPORT.com, The Daily Presented by General Tire and Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV — SPEED SPORT will encourage fans, families and friends to celebrate their local and regional short tracks between June 17 and June 26.
Participating tracks will receive a flag, banners and t-shirts to enhance one of their race nights during the week. In addition, Suzuki will award a quad to one fan in a drawing from those who register at participating tracks. In an additional drawing, Suzuki will award a second quad to a participating track.
General Tires is also awarding a certificate for a set of tires to one fan who registers at a participating track, and ASI Racewear will give each participating track a $100 gift certificate.
SPEED SPORT will ensure each participating track has a winner by drawing one registered fan from each track to receive a SPEED SPORT Swag Pack, which includes a 12-month subscription to SPEED SPORT Magazine and a t-shirt plus a coozie and stickers.
“Our local short tracks produce some of the most exciting racing you’ll ever see every week in this country, and knowing this type of racing is what Chris Economaki built SPEED SPORT on made it easy to put together a plan to show our support,” said SPEED SPORT’s Chris Dolack. “With great organizations like Suzuki, General Tire, and ASI Racewear jumping on board to reward fans, plus the support of National Speedway Directory and the RPM Promoters Workshops, I’m very confident we can create a nationwide movement to steer fans to check out racing at their local tracks.”
To join the movement, make sure to use the hashtag #SPEEDSPORTSTW in social media outlets and then make sure to go to a participating short track between June 17 and June 26 to register. A directory of participating tracks will be posted on SPEEDSPORT.com in April as well as in the April edition of SPEED SPORT Magazine, which announces fans’ choices for their favorite tracks and events.
