MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Myrtle Beach Speedway has added a special twist to the traditional Myrtle Beach 400 weekend, scheduled for Nov. 15-18.
Late-model drivers have an incentive to come and win during all the 100 lap events scheduled for this season at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Each of those races will be considered a prelude to the Myrtle Beach 400, with meaning the winners will earn guaranteed starting spots in the Myrtle Beach 400.
They won’t be earning just any starting position however. They’ll be earning a top-seven starting spot for the start of the event by winning one of the 100 lappers.
The five race winners will have the opportunity to race in the “Dash for Cash” the Saturday after qualifying for the Myrtle Beach 400. The seven drivers in field will draw for their starting positions in the “Dash.”
That’s five 100-lap winners and the front row off the timing clock in time trials. for two more. With the pole winner and the second place starter also earning a spot in the “Dash,” which is worth $2,500 and the pole for the Myrtle Beach 400 to the winner. The distance for the race will be 35 laps.
Third-place in time trials for the 400 miler will start eighth in the field. Drivers of the winning cars in the 100-lap events will be the recipients of the guaranteed starting position, not the team owners.
