Four East Tennessee Dirt Tracks Set Revised Schedules

BULLS GAP, Tenn. – Officials from four East Tennessee dirt tracks have jointly revealed revised schedules for their respective facilities, with cooperation as a cornerstone of the new slate.

Track owners Mitch McCarter (411 Motor Speedway), Roger Sellers (Smoky Mountain Speedway), Gary Hall (Tazewell Speedway), and Landon Stallard (Volunteer Speedway) recently held a series of meetings to discuss a variety of topics.

When it came to the four dirt tracks in the East Tennessee area, the central theme was how all four can be better with a common theme of working together.

Progress was made in that meeting, with goals in the future of a common rule book, combined points funds and other items that will be discussed in detail in the future.

With the current situation that the United States is facing in regards to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the main focus of the four track owners was a plan to get all of the tracks back open and operational for their racers, fans, sponsors, and staff.

A newly-revised, collective schedule for 2020 has been developed with input from all parties involved. Each track will have its own schedule of special events and weekly events with as little overlap as possible with our neighboring track.

Support classes for each date will be confirmed and published by each track as their opening dates approaches.

The combined calendar begins with a $2,500-to-win Topless Outlaws event at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 2, with weekly racing opening on May 9 at both Tazewell and Volunteer.

Smoky Mountain’s season will kick off on May 23 with twin $5,000-to-win events for the Topless Outlaws and American Crate All Stars.

Headline events in East Tennessee on the revised schedule include a $15,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Smoky Mountain on June 13, a $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at 411 on June 26, a Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series visit to Volunteer on Aug. 22 and a $10,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at 411 on Oct. 3.

Southern Nationals dirt late model events paying $10,000 to win will be held at Smoky Mountain, 411 and Tazewell on July 10, July 24 and July 25, respectively.

A reschedule date for the postponed World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Volunteer Speedway, originally slated for March 27, has yet to be announced.
