GASTONIA, N.C. – The South Eastern Crate Ass’n (SECA) has added Carolina Speedway to the SECA family for the 2014 racing season.
Commonly referred to as “The Action Track,” Carolina boasts a wealth of racing history and memories. The Clint Elkins and Mark Gibbons managed venue hosts The Skyler Trull Memorial, The Gaston County Shrine Race, The King of the Carolinas and many other special events in addition to its weekly Friday night races.
“We are ecstatic to be partnering with Carolina Speedway”, stated SECA’s Timmy McAbee. “Thanks to Clint and Mark’s outstanding efforts, their fans are treated to an electric racing atmosphere each and every week. We look forward to welcoming and supporting their teams as we work with the speedway to promote competitive and exciting racing!” The addition of Carolina Speedway not only strengthens the SECA organization, it also helps universalize the crate late model program in the western North Carolina region.
“After watching SECA establish themselves this year, Clint and I definitely took a deeper look at their program,” said Mark Gibbons. “They had a solid inaugural season, ran an efficient program, and fulfilled all of their commitments. This was very important to us and we believe our partnership with them will definitely benefit our race teams.”
