Bailes Flies To Carolina Speedway Victory


GASTONIA, NC – Ross Bailes dominated the Carolina Workwear NDRA Late Model main event at Carolina Speedway Friday night.

Bailes took off from his front row starting position as he went flag to flag in the caution free 20 lap main event. Corey Gordon had a strong run in second with fast qualifier Greg Barker third, Kenny Ramsey fourth and Steve Banal fifth.

David Carswell won a wild Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade main event. Jamie Major came home second with defending track champion Tyler Hyatt third, 16th starting Scott Freeman was fourth and early leader Chris Stowe rounded out the top five.

Ronald Pope collected his first checkered flag of the season with the Domino’s Pizza Street Stock win. Adam Vandiver charged from seventh to finish second with Mitch Williams third, Stephen Watts fourth and Andy Duncan fifth.

Nick Stroupe used a big slide job on Greg Brown to score the Stock Car Steel/SRI Open Wheel Modified win. Brown, Manual Johnson, Patrick Lyon and Greg Dellinger rounded out the top five.

Shorty Lacey inherited the Hornets win after apparent winner Scott Cloniger refused a post-race claim. Jonathan Surratt, Issac Sosebee, Josh Blanton and David Motes rounded out the top five.
