Magnolia Reschedules Cotton Pickin’ 100

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Due to overwhelming feedback from fans and racers, officials with Magnolia Motor Speedway have made the decision to move forward with a rescheduled date for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100.

Originally slated for Sept. 24-26, but preempted by Tropical Storm Beta, the mega event has been rescheduled for Nov. 12-14.

“It never used to seem to be that way, but the past few years November has been a pretty dry and mild month in this area, so we figured it was a good idea to reschedule the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 for Nov. 12-14,” said track promoter Johnny Stokes. Ever since we had to postpone the event our phones have been blowing up with calls from fans and racers asking when the reschedule date will be. It seems like everybody is hungrier than ever for racing this year, and as long as Mother Nature doesn’t throw us another curve ball we are going to give them more racing.”

The early entry fee for the weekend is only $100. Super Late Model competitors have until Saturday, Nov. 7 to file an early entry for the event. After that, the entry fee will be $150.

Competitors must file an early entry by mailing a check to Magnolia Motor Speedway at 495 Highway 45 South, Columbus, Miss., 39701.

Competitors can give also give Johnny Stokes (662-574-2572), Ben Shelton (901-335-3037) or any of the Magnolia Motor Speedway staff early entries.

After an open practice session held on Thursday, Nov. 12, there will be a complete $4,000-to-win, $300-to-start program on Friday, Nov. 13 for the super late models.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, the super late model division will compete in a complete program that culminates with a $12,000-to-win and $700-to-start finale over 70 laps.

Friday and Saturday night’s programs include a $200 Super Late Model Fast Time Award, courtesy of Ace Portable Buildings.
