Last year’s OctoberFast winner Casey Smith was quickest halfway through the field, but gave way to Chris Davidson. Sirizzotti was second to last and bested C. Davidsons time with a lap of 18.334. Cody Smith and Spencer Davis rounded out the top five. Sirizzotti will roll a die to determine the invert on Saturday.

“I just tried not to overdrive the car,” replied Sirizzotti. “You have to stay out of the bumps, hit your marks and know where to be(on the track). If you get too amped up for this place you’ll charge the corner and bottom out. It takes a lot of discipline to not overdrive the car. It will bite you.”

Winner of last year’s re-opening event, Bayley Curry set the early standard in Modified qualifying with a sporty lap of 19.336. Jake Kruger took his best shot midway through, but it was Matt Merrell near the end laying down the best time with 19.342. Former NASCAR driver Joe Aramendia and his nephew, Brian Moczygemba completed the top five.

In other action Gary Cavigliano and Mark Chrudimsky picked up heat race wins in the Truck class. Collin Alexander and Greg Rohmer were street-stock heat winners. Hunter Montgomery and Aaron Brungot were charger heat race winners and Mike Farish won the grand stock heat.
