VINTON, Iowa — Two victories in the final weekend of competition allowed Zane DeVilbiss to claim the IMCA National Modified championship.
With victories Sept. 24-25 at Utah’s Desert Thunder Raceway, DeVilbiss earned enough points to leapfrog Keith White and David Murray, Jr. for the top spot in the division. The title earned him a $10,000 share of the divisional point fund.
Mike Nichols took home the national crown in the IMCA National Stock Car division while Shannon Anderson became the first hobby-stock driver to earn three-straight national titles.
Austin Kaplan earned his first IMCA national title Northern SportMod division while Darick Lamberson collected his first title in the sport-compact division. Ray Guss, Jr. clinched the IMCA late-model title in August.
