SALINA, Kan. — One of Salina Speedway’s past champions decided to strap into two cars on select race nights over the off season and that gamble has paid off as Mike Traskwosky piloted two cars to wins on the same night on Friday June 21.
First up was the Coors Light Street Stock feature event, starting thirteen cars. Traskowsky took home his first win ever in the division in only his second start. Duane Toyne, winner of week one, took second with week three winner Jerry Phillips third, and Curtis Woods fourth.
Traskowsky then had a one race break before jumping into his Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stock for that feature event. He found himself once again on top, this time besting Aaron McBride in second, Tony Slothower in third, and Kelly Pihl in fourth.
The title sponsor foreman picked up the win in the Belleville Motorsports IMCA Modifieds. Concordia’s Brandon Blochlinger cruised to his second win on the season with Danny Morrison Jr. in second, Brian Knoell third, and Joe Cleveland fourth.
Kurtis Pihl also returned to victory lane in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods. He out ran a strong Brenden Damon in second, Mark Franklin in third, and Shane Meeks in fourth. Pihl, Franklin, and Meeks won the heat races.
Brian Dunsworth was another returning victor in the T&R Dirt Construction Mini Stocks.
