Pollard Conquers Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa — With 120 race cars in the pit area Friday night at the Davenport Speedway, there was sure to be a lot of high speed racing action.

Eric Pollard inherited the lead of the 50 lap race for sport mods when early race leader Dustin Crear pulled off the race track on lap eight. Pollard survived several late race restarts and a late challenge from Tracy Wassenberg to claim the victory and the $2,000 top prize.

Wassenberg finished a close second, with Bobby Anders third. Tim Current and Austin Moyer completed the top five.

Andy Nezworski broke through for his first IMCA Late Model win of the season. Nezworski used the high side to pass Gary Webb for the lead, after a lap nine restart. Andy had to fend off Nate Bueseling and Mike Zemo Jr. down the stretch to hang on for the win.

Zemo finished strong to take the runner-up spot. Bueseling took third with Ray Guss Jr. in fourth, and Rob Toland fifth.

Another week, and another different winner in the EMS IMCA Modified division. Bob Dominacki took his ride to victory lane, by leading all 20 laps of the feature.

Jeremy Marquette won the street stock feature and Brandon Dahl topped the 4-stock race.
