Karting Returns To Knoxville Raceway


Knoxville_RacewayKNOXVILLE, Iowa – The first appearance of Karts since 1992 at the Knoxville Raceway came on Monday night in conjunction with the Marion County Fair.

A special 1/8-mile oval track was constructed on the west end of the front stretch for the 70 entrants to race on, some coming as far away as Texas.

Seven classes competed for a chance to put their names in the Knoxville Raceway record books. The races were organized in conjunction with the English Creek Raceway located approximately 10 miles south of Knoxville which races every Friday night and will host the 9th Annual Outlaw DIRT KART Nationals on Aug. 4-5.

Feature winners were: Restricted Box Stock: Chase Ripperger, Adult Wing: Eric Nott, Box Stock: Devin Wignal, 125cc: Colton Fisher, Open 500cc: Cliff Jones, 250cc: JC Haddock, 390 Clone: Joshua Parcel.
