It’s Jesse Stovall At Thunderfest

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Jesse Stovall wins night one of Thunderfest at Thunderbird Speedway Friday night.

Stovall bested the 22-car starting late model field by leading every lap and withstanding several charges by runner-up finisher Will Vaught.

Vaught made Stovall earn every penny of the $3,000 winner’s share. On the last lap, Stovall went high in turn one to put a lap down on Cliff Morrow. Vaught noticed an opportunity as he went low tried to steal the win away from Stovall. As the trio exited turn two, Stovall would muscle his way through and pick up his seventh victory of the 2012 season.

Vaught, the defending Thunderfest Champion, finished second. Jon Kirby, Terry Phillips and Justin Zeitner filled the top five.
