WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Tim Fahrner claimed the Comcast Super Stock Shootout victory and fast qualifying time at Rocky Mountain Raceways on Saturday.
Fahrner, who started in seventh, secured an early lead by passing Al Jones on lap four for the top spot. Fahrner, the defending Comcast Super Stock champion, checked out for the remainder of the 50-lap main event and left the rest of the field to battle for the remaining podium positions. Jeremy Eaton finished second and Jones finished third.
Additional winners included Jimmy Waters (Winged Sprints,) Nathan Westmoreland (Jr. Stingers) Donny Sevey (Mini Cups) and Kevin Truscott (Hornets).
Saturday’s race marked Rocky Mountain Raceways’ 18th anniversary. Fans celebrated with a food drive benefiting Utah Food Bank.
“We are thrilled to celebrate 18 years of racing here in the community. It’s hard to fathom that we have been doing this for that length of time. We pride ourselves on being a unique entertainment experience and I am very proud to use our event tonight for such a worthy cause. This evening, our patrons really came through in a big way to help those in need. I can’t thank everyone enough,” said Mike Eames, Rocky Mountain Raceways general manager.
