FULTON, N.Y. — Fulton Speedway opened the 2013 season with a flurry.
Larry Wight out ran teammate Billy Decker for a popular Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win, while two other features were decided with a last-lap pass and a win by .006 of a second.
“I knew we were good enough on the top that he wasn’t going to get us. It was just the lapped traffic that was hurting us a little bit,” Wight said when Decker briefly got by him with three laps to go. “Toward the end of the race we were starting to lose fuel pressure and it started stumbling on me, we were lucky to make it to the end.”
Decker finished second with Ryan Phelps, Robbie Bellinger and Tim Sears Jr. rounding out the top five.
Jordan Bennett topped the sportsman feature with Sean Beardsley winning the late model race. Gary Hoppins won the novice sportsman race and Skip Degroff topped the four cylinder feature.
