With the 2013 racing season drawing to a close, the racing scene will quickly shift to the many local car shows planned in the new year.
The 29th annual Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show will return to the Fairgrounds Square Mall in Reading, Pa., opening on Feb. 23 and continuing through March 1. The next day, Sunday, March 2 , the seventh annual Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will open at the Phillipsburg Mall in Phillipsburg, N.J. The Dirt Track Heroes event will run through Saturday, March 8. Both events offer race teams, organizations and race tracks a great opportunity to promote their efforts, sponsors and announce their plans for the 2014 racing season.
In a recent announcement from the Fairgrounds Square Mall, the world-wide based Jones Lang LaSalle Management Company will now manage the property. Jones Lang LaSalle employees more than 40,000 people in 1,000 locations in 70 countries and serve the local, regional and global real estate needs of those clients. Jones Lang LaSalle has entered into a two year agreement with the Fairgrounds Square Mall. The Management Team at the Fairgrounds Square Mall is looking forward to the return of this always popular race car show that is dedicated to the memory of the drivers, competitors and race fans of the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway.
The Dirt Track Heroes event will kick off their seventh year at the Phillipsburg Mall. The Mason Asset Management Group has over site for the Phillipsburg Mall since 2013. The folks at Mason Asset Management were thrill with the turnout for the 2013 presentation of the Dirt Track Heroes event and they were very favorable and accommodating to the event. Nightly activities and always large car counts make this a must see event.
With 2014 fast approaching, both the Racing Legend’s Racing Reunion & the Dirt Track Heroes events have proven to be popular events, especially because of their location. The Fairgrounds Square Mall now covers what was once the grand Reading Fairgrounds Speedway. A local and wildly popular half-mile dirt track that ceased operation in 1979. The Phillipsburg Mall is located approximately ten miles from the former Harmony Speedway, another popular local dirt track.
Race cars from all divisions of racing will be represented at both Mall shows as the past, present and future of racing are highlighted in the week long events that celebrate fond racing memories. The race cars are also displayed to exhibit the new and changing technology of the cars, and with the many restored cars on site, depicts the evolution of the many eras of racing With an exciting and diverse schedule of nightly events to fill the appetite of any true race fan, large crowds are expected at both shows.
