Power Outage Stops Freedom’s Fall Classic

DELEVAN, N.Y. – On a cloudy and cool Friday evening, Freedom Motorsports Park hosted the first night of the 14th annual Fall Classic.

Zimmers Service Center ULMS heats were won by Chub Frank and Boom Briggs.  Fast time for the ULMS competitors was set by Frank at 13.905 seconds.

In the Clayson Construction Crate Late Model feature, John Waters and Frank battled for the lead in the early stages while Jeremy Wonderling moved into third spot.  A pileup on a lap five restart knocked Wonderling out of contention with several other cars.

It was during the red flag for cleanup that a power outage hit the area, forcing the remainder of the feature events from Friday’s program to be pushed to 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Tickets and pit passes from tonight’s program can be used for admission for these remaining features.  The pits and grandstands will then be cleared for the scheduled Saturday night program.

Clayson Construction Crate Late Model heats were won by John Waters, Bill Holmes, Frank and Chad Homan.  The consolation race was taken by Bill DuBois.

Close Racing Supply Pro Mod heats were won by Dennis Lunger and Steve Dixon.

MHL Performance Pure Stock heats were won by Mike Parmenter and Andy Michael.

Mini Stock heats were won by Richard Kline, Andrew Gayton, and Brad Whiteside.

The Bandit feature event saw Jacob Tubbs take the early lead and held off Tierney White for the win with Cody Atwater finishing third. The Bandit heat was won by Tierney White.
