BREWERTON, N.Y. — Young Max McLaughlin continued his August surge with a victory in Friday night’s 35-lap big-block modified feature at Brewerton Speedway.
McLaughlin’s second modified triumph of the season came in the holdover feature from the Aug. 4 program at the quarter-mile oval, as he held off Tim Sears Jr. for the victory. Jimmy Phelps, Billy Decker and Jeremy Smith completed the top five.
Decker won the regularly scheduled main event, beating Larry Wight to the checkered flag, with McLaughlin, Pat Ward and Sears following.
Stephen Denton topped the sportsman feature and Casey Sykes won the mod lite main event.
Chris Bonoffski claimed the four-cylinder feature.
