James Michael Friesen Shows Grit At Humberstone

PORT COLBORNE, Ontario – James Michael Friesen picked up the victory in the 30-lap GRIT Racing Series event for the Cosco Haulage DIRTcar Sportsman Sunday at New Humberstone Speedway.

Jordan Cosco and Friesen were on the front row for the GRIT Sportsman Tour main event with Friesen jumping into the early race lead. Dylan Davidson would battle for several laps with his cousin Jordan Cosco for second place with Davidson moving into the runner up spot and Brad Rouse was able to move into third.

For several laps thereafter, Rouse and Davidson would battle and race hard for second place as Friesen would check out on the field. Rouse would get past Davidson for second and would inch towards Friesen.

The lone caution of the event would come out with three laps remaining as Tom Richau spun in turn three. The late-race restart would see Friesen hold off Rouse and Davidson to score the feature win.

In the Super Late Model/Crate Late Model challenge, Chad Homan from scored the win to represent the Pro Fabrication RUSH Late Models. Donny Lampman scored his second JC Auto Thunderstock Victory of the season. Jay Moulton scored the win in round one of the King of the 4’s for the Glo & Go Tanning Mini Stocks and the Airhardt Deliveries Pro 4 Trucks. Colton Lane scored his first victory as the V6 division from Merrittville Speedway made a visit.
