WEST LEBANON, N.Y. – Third-generation modified racer Keith Flach notched a convincing victory in Saturday night’s DIRTcar big-block modified feature at Lebanon Valley Speedway.
Mike King led his front row companion for the first three laps but from there it was all Flach, though early on it appeared that the 11th starting J.R. Heffner might be able to run him down. But his charge ended when he got to Pitcher’s rear bumper and the crowd turned their attention to the war being waged by Kenny Tremont and Brett Hearn.
Tremont had started a row behind Hearn, in 12th, but got to the front first. Hearn finally caught him with 10 to go and got alongside his arch-rival a number of times but could never put him away, much to the delight of the large holiday crowd.
Pitcher settled for second behind Flach, followed by Heffner and old pros Tremont and Hearn. Kolby Schroeder led the second five, trailed by Kyle Sheldon, Kyle Armstrong, Eddie Marshall and Brian Berger.
Rob Yetman drove from deep in the field to best Paul LaRochelle in the Pro Stock finale.
