Unzicker & Timmons Score At Macon

MACON, Ill. – Rob Timmons and Ryan Unzicker picked up victories during the annual Miller Lite Beer Twin 50s at Macon Speedway on Monday evening.

In the  Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mod portion of the event, Billy Knebel was out to a hot start on the top groove of the fifth-mile dirt oval, but Timmons closed the early gap from the bottom of the track.

Timmons slowly picked up speed on the bottom and caught up to Knebel and was able to move past him coming to the 17th lap. Tim Hancock Jr. moved from 11th place up the field and was running second place as Knebel fell out of the race. Timmons eventually crossed the finish line first to collect the trophy and winner’s share.

Unzicker scored his fourth Miller Lite Beer Twin 50s win at Macon Speedway during the Midwest Big Ten Series Super Late Model race. Unzicker led all 50 laps and battled the entire race with Rusty Schlenk, who was on his bumper the whole time. Schlenk raced clean and stayed in a groove, but couldn’t find a way to make the pass.

Other winners included Allen Weisser (BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds), Nick Macklin (Archer’s Alley Street Stocks), Andy Bishop (Micro Sprints Presented by Bailey Chassis) and Aaron Garcia (Hornets).
