Sheppard Masters Macon Late Model Go


MACON, Ill. – The Kid’s Castle, 95q Firecracker 40’s and Sun Drop made for an exciting night of racing Saturday at Macon Speedway.

The Midwest Big 10 Late Model series completed a 40 lap-event with Fireworks of their own. Steve Sheppard Jr. took the checker flag, with Brian Diveley following to the finish in second. Kyle Logue, Matt Taylor and Jeremy Nichols rounded out the top five.

The Billingsley Towing Modified feature event was full of excitement throughout the 40- lap feature. Jeremy Nichols took first place, followed by Guy Taylor in second. Steve Ewing fought hard for third place, with Randy Huffman and Kelly Kovski rounding out the top five.

In the street stock feature, Jeremy Nichols was able to hold off Gene Red to take the checkered flag. Bobby Beiler, Terry Reed and Thomas Riech completed the top five.

Dave Crawley Jr. is red hot in the sportsman division, taking another checkered flag on Saturday. Nick Macklin netted a second-place finish, with Mike Pickering in third. Dennis Vandermeersch and Jeremy Nichols completed the top five.

Adam Webb claimed first place in the Outlaw Hornet class. He was followed by Elden Hemken, Jeremy Reed, Jerad Matherly and Michael Gossett.

The final race of the evening was the Stock Hornets feature and it was won by Steven Stine, with Tom Eskew finishing a very close second. Kenneth Reed was third, followed by  Mike McChristy and Tharin Reno.
