FLAT ROCK, Mich. – For the first time in his career, Matt Ringger entered the record books by winning Saturday’s 250-lap Enduro at Flat Rock Speedway.
Rick McColl led for much of the event, while Danny Bennett, Matt Ringger, Robb Remick, Derrick Sheppard and the Metdepenningen brothers Rayce and Kyle challenged early.
Bennett pitted while running second with less than 50 laps to go. A red flag at lap 214 came out when Tony Rumble lost a wheel, stopping the field.
When the race went back to green flag, McColl’s car would not start, as he went pit-side with a push from the jam truck.
Ringger picked up the lead and sailed to his first-ever Flat Rock Enduro win over R. Metdepenningen, Sheppard, Dave Bennett and Ed Case.
Chris Metdepenningen won the companion four-cylinder feature, while his brothers Rayce and Kyle Metdepenningen were winners in the figure-8 train race.
