ANDERSON, Ind. – Ben Tunny used lapped traffic to his advantage to capture Saturday night’s rain-delayed Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series event at Anderson Speedway.

The night’s racing action was postponed for over 90 minutes when rain showers interrupted the racing action. The night’s racing action also featured the JEGS/CRA All Star tour. When rain interrupted the racing program, only 42 of the scheduled 100 laps of the CRA race had been completed. Once the rain subsided, Anderson Speedway officials quickly got the track dried so the racing action could continue.

The night began when RJ Norton Jr. set quick time with a lap of 17.202 seconds around the ¼ mile, high banked figure 8 coarse.

The top eight cars were inverted for the 50-lap feature and Shawn Cullen and Jeff Shackleford found themselves comprising the front row. Shackleford lead the opening lap before surrendering the lead back to Cullen. A hard charging Chris Green grabbed the top spot on lap three, and would lead the next 37 laps, with Ben Tunny lurking behind.

Tunny used lapped traffic to take the lead on lap 41 after Green got held up by a lapped car.

Rounding out the top five were Green, Mike Hadley Jr., Mike Riddle Jr., and Shackleford.

The finish:

Ben Tunny, Chris Green, Mike Hadley Jr., Mike Riddle Jr., Jeff Shackleford, Eddie Van Meter, Gary Bedell, Jedi Cluxton, Danny Stanley Jr., Shawn Cullen, Bruce McFall
