NEW EGYPT, N.J. – For seven years, the Pioneer Pole Buildings Jersey Rush thrilled race fans with an exciting double header of 410 sprint cars and modifieds.
However, a forecast of threatening weather on Tuesday, July 24 stopped the eighth running of the event. After scrambling to find a date that would accommodate race teams, tracks and fans, the Jersey Rush promotional team has announced that the 2018 edition of the event will not be rescheduled.
“We hoped to find an opening in the racing schedule that would make things easy for both the race teams and race fans,” said co-promoter Bob Miller. “With the amount of midweek shows it was difficult to find a date that didn’t conflict with another event.”
The Jersey Rush will return to New Egypt Speedway in 2019 and will carry sponsorship from Pioneer Pole Buildings.
Jersey Rush is co-promoted by Lenny, Danny and Davey Sammons, as well as special event promoter Bob Miller.
