MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Greg Hodnett stormed to victory in the season opening 410 sprint car race on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway.

Hodnett, the defending track champion in the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint car track champion, started on the front row alongside Steve Buckwalter. Hodnett shot into the lead when the green flag waved and was quick to build a lead.

Brian Montieth made the race interesting, challenging Hodnett multiple times during the race. A caution with 10 laps left reset the field, but Hodnett bolted away when the green flag waved and was never challenged as he scored his first victory of the year and 66th of his career at Williams Grove.

Montieth finished second, followed by Brock Zearfoss, Mark Smith and Doug Esh.

Heats for the 23 cars that were on hand were won by Dale Blaney, Hodnett and Buckwalter.
