Balluzzo Stars In Langley Mod Show

HAMPTON, Va. – Shawn Balluzzo assumed the lead on lap 35 and rolled to his sixth victory in the 50-lap Larry King Law Modified feature Saturday night at Langley Speedway.

Robbie Babb started on the pole and paced the first 34 circuits before faltering and turning the lead over to Balluzzo. At the finish, Balluzzo was the winner by four lengths over Mike Rudy.

Chris Johnson, Matt Slye and Late Model regular Mark Wertz tailed the lead duo to the stripe. After leading most of the way, Babb ended up 19th.

Brandon Hinson posted his third and fourth wins in a pair of caution-free 20-lappers for the Pepsi Grand Stocks.

In the opener, Hinson won by half a straightaway over Tommy Sweeney. Mark Frye, Michael Waters and Shawn Scovel completed the top five. In the nightcap, Hinson held off Sweeney by three lengths to finish off the sweep. Frye, Waters and Rodney Boyd were third, fourth and fifth, in that order.

Chase McAdams took the lead on lap 13 and sailed to his fourth victory in the 25-lap Super Truck race. Pole starter Jacob Carr was second, half a straightaway back, followed by Colby Vance, Richard Ellis and Bill Wallace.

Rookie Trevor Battoia led laps five through 12. His outing was ruined by a cut tire and he ended up sixth.
