Once again, while not serving as an official “crown” feature, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series ran a full program in the Night Before The Crown, giving the big Eldora crowd the opportunity to see the WoO, USAC sprints, USAC midgets, USAC Silver Crown, and the All Star Circuit of Champions over two days of racing. Logan Shuchart took the Outlaws win.
Friday night also featured Silver Crown qualifying, and Tyler Courtney earned the pole for the Saturday night event.
An additional USAC midget event was added to the Friday program, with the finishing order from Friday night serving as the qualifying order for Saturday‘s midget feature. Courtney took the win in the Friday midget feature, giving him high hopes for his weekend.
In fact, Courtney ran every division over the two nights and had expressed confidence that he might bag multiple features.
Come Saturday, it was Rico Abreu leading flag-to-flag to earn the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions feature.
Chris Windom started fourth, but had already pulled out front by the completion of the first lap of the NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series feature. “The Bear” led every lap to earn the win.
When the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series hit the track, Chris Windom took the early lead, before Logan Seavey took the point. But, it was Tyler Courtney that would take the lead on lap 22 and stay out front to earn the win.
Seavey was forced to settle for the runner-up spot in both the USAC midget and sprint car features, but would not be denied in the Silver Crown finale. In fact, polesitter
Tyler Courtney led only the first circuit prior to Seavey claiming the top spot and leading the remainder of the 50-lap event.
