Price-Miller earned his first victory of the season on May 8 at Huset‘s Speedway in South Dakota.
“It‘s my first win since starting treatments,” he said. “After the checkered, I was getting teary-eyed. I didn‘t know if I was going to race again. This is going to mean something special in my heart forever.”
Hopefully there comes a day when all of this becomes just a bad dream. However, Price-Miller knows this experience has transformed him.
“I look at things a lot differently now,” he said. “I‘m a lot more thankful for certain things. I don‘t take things for granted like I did before. Now if it is a nice sunny day, I might go for a walk, and I would never do that before. There is a lot more than just racing and working. It opens your eyes. We can get tunnel vision on certain things when you can see other things out there that you should.”
