Max Adams made the move from the west coast to Indiana to follow his sprint car dreams

When it comes to the distant future, it just might involve becoming a chief mechanic or running his own team. Once again, as the season began, he seized on a chance to help young Californian Caleb Montgomery, who is making his way in winged 360 racing. It is a role he enjoys. “I have known this family for a long time,” Max says, “and they are basically family to me. I helped them on and off when I lived in California. The winters in Indiana are pretty long so we talked about it and it was like yeah, come on out. When I worked with him before we kind of clicked. It‘s fun. I like the crew chief side of it and making race cars go fast.”

While this may be an enjoyable sideline, Max Adams has no plan to step away from driving. He says it‘s just too much fun. His goals in the sport are both reasonable and attainable. “What I really want to do is run the USAC National tour fulltime,” he says. “I haven‘t had the opportunity yet, which is understandable. But I want to do that. I want to win USAC races and I want to be competitive every night. That‘s the goal for me.” Everything to date suggests all of this is right at his fingertips.End Bug
